USBR 45 in Minnesota follows the Mississippi River - from the headwaters at Itasca State Park - to Iowa. U.S. Bicycle Route (USBR) 45 in Minnesota is NOT signed.
The route winds through forests, farm fields, and historic river towns. It passes through the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, and connects to the National Park Service’s Mississippi National River and Recreation Area. It offers challenging climbs in the limestone bluffs of southeastern Minnesota, rewarded with long scenic views of the river valley.
